Within my WG, we address the gap in the link between digitisation and environmental sustainability, and particularly of products and services. Specifically, digital devices and related elements ranging from materials to e-waste are a significant part of our environmental problem.

It is particularly important that European SMEs find DPPs a way to communicate the sustainability advantages of their products better and that producing a DPP, and digitalising product information becomes an advantage and not an additional obstacle to SMEs. One of the advantages of ITU and ETSI over other standards development organisations is that these standards will be free and more accessible for SMEs.
Impact on SMEs (6th Open Call)
Relevant for any size organisation that produces or modifies ICT products that are part, involved in any stage, of the circular economy. Particularly, this is very important for social enterprises in the business of repair, refurbishment and recycling. This is the case, for instance, of the European RReuse.org association that groups social enterprises with more than 100.000 jobs.

The digitalisation of product-related information has the aim to contribute to a transition to more environmentally sustainable and circular products.
Impact on society (5th Open Call)
The resulting standard element from this work will support legislative initiatives in the EU for implementing the digital product passport for ICT products in Europe and globally. This work focuses on environmental information for ICT products, and is complementary to other digital standards about the DPP in Europe and globally. Also, this a relevant standard for any size organisation that produces or modifies ICT products that are part, involved in any stage, of the circular economy
Impact on society (6th Open Call)
The resulting standards from the ITU-T L.GPSIM work item will support legislative initiatives in the EU about ecodesign and sustainable products to remove data sanitization as a risk and barrier to the circular economy (reuse and other circular processes to extend product lifespan) and for the implementation and evaluation of circular economy initiatives.

The number of devices in these areas vastly outnumbers the number of human beings and this area is almost unprotected, which could have detrimental effects on our society. It is the hope that the project could be one way to enable a broader cybersecurity protection.

Every aspect of cybersecurity has a high priority. Access control needs to be timely in place to prevent unauthorised access.

This updated standard will allow users (relying parties) to access certificate information for the whole of Europe and be a significant contributor to the single market. The two priorities selected are cybersecurity and interoperability.
The whole scope of DPKI and the proposed access secure protocols are primarily related to cybersecurity. The proposed access protocol will use robust and trusted cryptographic algorithms to protect the protocols. It is prepared for migration to quantum resistant cryptographic algorithms (crypto agility).
In parallel, any communication protocol is designed for interoperability and the two proposed protocols are no exception. Interoperability is a necessity.

This NIST MDKP PWG GAFB Standard being developed for the New Ecosystem on Multi-Domain Knowledge Planes Driven Networking Era in 5G & 6G presents a tremendous opportunity for the adoption and use of global standards developed in Europe by ETSI in the USA market to steer commerce and open up new collaborations opportunities between USA and Europe stakeholders for commerce and innovation of services and GANA KP Platforms products by industrial players in these markets. This also has the effect of strengthening Europe's position in global standardisation initiatives thanks to the adoption of ETSI standards in the US for global reach and use outside Europe. Stakeholders benefit as follows: Telecommunications network operators/CSPs, Private Enterprises, Government Institutes, SMEs, or Research Institutes can expose network capabilities for use by other authorised parties when available within certain times for specific incentives (e.g., monetisation of the resources usage).

The following objectives of the NIST MDKP GAFB Specification provide unique Use Cases for 5G, 6G and Future Networks:
“Requirements for Enablers for Cross-Industry Sectors End-to-End (E2E) Services Innovation and Delivery Agility” that facilitate the leveraging of dynamic resources and assets availability in various sector domains when they are discoverable for use in dynamic on-demand network(s) and differentiated connectivity services formations; and/or application-layer service innovation, composition and delivery using the newly formed networks and connectivity services or ones already available such that they can serve the needs of the targeted application layer service(s).
New ecosystem on Cross-Industry Sectors End-to-End (E2E) Services Innovation and Delivery Agility (i.e., coined the “MD_KPs_Feds_For_5GnB ” Ecosystem) in which ETSI GANA Knowledge Plane (KP) Platforms (based on the ETSI TS 103 195-2) as Distributed Open Platforms (DOPs) that enable federated Autonomic/Autonomous Networking (ANs) should play role as anchors for the ecosystem, together with DOPs on the higher level, namely: Service Federation Orchestration & Autonomic Management & Control Platforms that dynamically place demands for differentiated and federated network connectivity services on the GANA (KP) Platforms.

This NIST MDKP PWG initiative presents a tremendous opportunity for the adoption and use of global standards developed in Europe by ETSI in the USA market to steer commerce and open up new collaborations opportunities between USA and Europe stakeholders for commerce and innovation of services and GANA KP Platforms products by industrial players in these markets. This also has an effect of strengthening Europe's position in global standardisation initiatives thanks to the adoption of ETSI standards in US for global reach and use outside Europe. A New Ecosystem is emerging from the NIST Specifications which have potential to reduce Carbon Emissions, thanks to Nework Sharing.

This recommendation focuses on the overall requirements of cloud virtual reality systems and the related requirements of each layer including content requirements, network requirements, control requirements, resource requirements and terminal requirements, as well as the reference framework for related high-level functions. Cloud virtual reality based on cloud capabilities, can effectively shield terminal differences, reduce the difficulty of application development, lower some specific industry entry barriers, and promote the industry business chain cooperation. This recommendation identifies the functional requirements for the media processing services. In particular, the scope of this Recommendation includes functional requirements and application scenarios. Media processing services utilize a set of techniques including cloud computing, computing resource virtualization, and job queue processing to dynamically control and manage computing resources, which improves scalability, flexibility, and availability. This Recommendation specifies the functional requirements of general requirements, service provision requirements, service management requirements, security considerations, etc.

Requirements for a real-time interactive multimedia service under poor network conditions

This recommendation describes the scenarios, general framework, and requirements for a real-time interactive multimedia service (RIMS) under poor network conditions. The RIMS system plays an important role in many scenarios and situations, e.g., emergency relief, remote education and emergency communication. The RIMS requires providing measures for adjustment of coding parameters, including video and audio coding parameters, dynamically, and it requires setting maximal priority of audio communication under low-speed network conditions and configuring usage priority attributes to ensure that high-priority uses have priority of service over low-priority uses.
