My fellowship contributes to analysing the ICT (IoT) Standards landscape in order to find gaps to be filled by future standardisation work and also to identify existing standards, which manufacturers and service providers of connected products or related services may apply in order for their products being compliant to the new Regulation (EU) 2023/2854 (European Data Act).
There is a lack of standard procedures installers can employ to determine whether their installation work has caused new electromagnetic interference problems. The challenge is to develop guidelines to help detect major emissions problems in the field early to fix them promptly, in a proactive and preventive manner that are complementary and coherent with standard emissions tests as part of compliance assessment.
Identifying standardisation gaps and creating road maps is essential for ensuring technology development addresses key problem areas.
In the transversal aspects in data spaces, there is a lack of guidance on the integration of security and privacy, and it is crucial to develop this further as it is a barrier for compliance with regulation (e.g. CRA, AI act).
A successful standardisation of Ambient IoT will enable SMEs to create devices, applications and services that use Ambient-IoT-enabled chipsets. For instance, novel applications for inventory management are specific battery-less sensors for the use in industrial IoT.
This work is addressing the demand of harmonised standards for radio regulations certification. In particular it is addressing RFID in the UHF frequency bands 865-868 and 915-921 MHz.
The aim of the analysis within ITU is to identify existing gaps and market needs in the area of P2P crowd charging systems. Special focus has been given to smart city vertical areas, as well as technological enablers such as battery ageing mitigation, social information management, standardised prototyping.
The objective of this fellowship is to include European contributions on viable methodologies on semantic interoperability in ISO standards: ISO SC41 IoT and Digital Twin, with a focus on practical use cases in the domains of health/well-being.
A significant challenge for European industrial plants is ensuring reliable connectivity and interoperability among wireless devices. RPL has been developed to specifically address these challenges.
