The ETSI Security Conference is ETSI’s annual flagship event on cyber security, taking place on 6–9 October 2025 at ETSI’s headquarters in Sophia Antipolis, France.

It gathers leading experts from governments, industry, research, and standardisation communities to explore the most pressing challenges and opportunities in the security landscape.

The conference offers a unique platform to discuss how standards, policies, and technologies can work together to strengthen global cyber resilience.

This year’s programme covers a wide range of topics, including AI and security risks, IoT and consumer device protection, 5G/6G network security, zero trust models, post-quantum cryptography, and the growing skills gap in cyber security.

In addition to keynote sessions and expert panels, the event features poster sessions, live demos, and networking opportunities with peers from across sectors and regions.

The ETSI Security Conference provides a space to share knowledge, align on best practices, and shape the standards that will secure our future technologies. By connecting regulators, industry leaders, and researchers, the conference helps ensure that Europe can address security challenges with a shared vision and concrete solutions.

StandICT.eu at the ETSI Security Conference

On Day 1 (Monday 6 October, 16:00) StandICT.eu will contribute to Session D1-3: Cyber Skills Gaps, chaired by Michaela Klopstra (Accenture). The session will explore initiatives to reduce the global cyber skills shortage and highlight the role of both standards and education in building a secure digital future.

StandICT.eu will share insights on closing the cybersecurity standardisation skills gap, showcasing results from its Open Calls, training and mentorship programmes, and the real-world impact achieved by funded experts and SMEs.

As part of this contribution, we will also introduce the new report “Expert voices from the field: How to close the cybersecurity standardisation gap”, developed with CYBERSTAND.eu, INSTAR, HSbooster.eu and NERO. The report collects first-hand insights and recommendations from 38 experts actively shaping cybersecurity standards, offering perspectives that are unique and grounded in real-world engagement.

This presentation will highlight how Europe can train, support, and empower a new generation of experts to play a stronger role in global cybersecurity standardisation.

In addition to this dedicated session, StandICT.eu will also take part in the panel discussions, reinforcing the importance of equipping experts with the right knowledge and tools to contribute effectively to cybersecurity standards.

By bringing forward the voice of its community, StandICT.eu underlines the need to train, support, and empower professionals so that Europe remains a strong, active player in the global cybersecurity standardisation arena.
