Contribution impact:
The work can generate medium- and long-term impact by improving alignment between AI standards and European regulation, particularly the AI Act. Clear, interoperable and risk-based standards can reduce compliance uncertainty and implementation costs, especially for SMEs and public administrations. Stronger European participation also supports market access, trustworthy AI adoption and digital sovereignty. Linking standards with professional competences, human oversight, cybersecurity and accountability can improve the quality and safety of AI deployments, while helping organisations identify the skills and governance structures needed to adopt AI responsibly.
