Coherent CRA-supporting standards should reduce duplicated compliance work, improve interoperability and give manufacturers clearer and more testable requirements. For European SMEs, consistent scope, terminology, assessment and evidence rules can lower legal and engineering uncertainty, shorten conformity-assessment preparation and reduce barriers to the EU market. Reusable cross-vertical templates also allow scarce cybersecurity expertise to be applied efficiently, while stronger traceability and vulnerability-handling requirements support trustworthy products and innovation.
