Data is the backbone of Europe's digital economy, and the standards that govern how it is shared, accessed and reused will shape who benefits from it.
With the Data Act now in place and the Single Market for Data taking form, Europe is working to develop the technical foundations that will turn these policy ambitions into practice.
Yet this effort does not happen in isolation: data and data spaces are also the subject of intense standardisation work at international level, where different approaches, interests and priorities compete.
This webinar, part of a series on the geopolitics of ICT standardisation, examines where European data standardisation stands today and how it relates to developments worldwide.
It explores how Europe can align its work with the global landscape while safeguarding its values and strategic interests, and what opportunities and risks this creates.
Bringing together policy and standardisation experts, it offers a timely perspective on a field that is increasingly central to competitiveness and digital sovereignty.
